01 The Pitch

300 men. Endless waves. One final race against the God King.”

PHALANX is pure action: your line auto-fights while Persians flood in from the right. You decide when to hold and when to unleash a brutal charge that clears enemies fast but burns through your own Spartans. Every loss is permanent for the run.

Between waves, choose one of three boons to shape your build: damage, rage, sustain, or risk. Reach the final battle, dump everything into the Persian God King, and post a score worthy of bronze.

02 Three Pillars

  • Hold vs Charge

Moment to moment is simple: HOLD for stable survival, CHARGE for explosive kills. Every charge is power now for lives later.

  • 300 Is Your Health Bar

Lose a Spartan and he is gone for the run. The number only moves one direction. Your best moments are expensive.

  • Wave Boons & Builds

After each wave, pick 1 of 3 boons. Stack rage gain, crit blood, sustain, or glass-cannon charge and chase absurd runs.

03 How It Plays

Hold the Line

Your Spartans form a living wall on the left. In HOLD mode they fight efficiently and bleed slowly. Use it to stabilize and set up your burst windows.

  • Low casualties, steady pressure
  • Builds combo and rage safely
  • Best against dense mixed waves
  • Buys time for big decisions

The line holds — until you spend it.

Charge for Blood

When the line starts to buckle, trigger CHARGE. Your Spartans surge forward and erase lanes in violent bursts — at a brutal cost to your own count.

  • Massive clear speed and blood spray
  • Fast combo spikes and rage gain
  • Higher self-casualties per second

Power now. Survivors later.

Wave Boons

Between waves, choose one of three boons. This is where your run gets its identity: rage engine, sustain wall, or reckless charge-machine.

  • Pick 1 of 3 after each wave
  • Stackable synergies and spike moments
  • Simple choices, huge consequences

One pick. One direction.

The God King

At the end of every run, he is waiting. The Persian God King is not a fight — he is a damage check. Whatever you have left of your phalanx, throw it at him in a single, escalating exchange. Survive, and your score is written in bronze.

  • Pure damage-race finale
  • Score scales with survivors + damage
  • One last all-in decision loop

Xerxes-That-Was. The wall at the end.

05 Frequently Asked

What do I actually do moment to moment?

Hold the line to stabilize, then trigger charge windows for burst kills. The core decision is always power now versus casualties now.

What happens when I lose all 300 Spartans?

The run ends — even before reaching the God King. Your high score reflects how far you marched.

Will there be a demo?

Yes — a combat-first prototype with waves, boons, and a God King finale is the first milestone.

Can I help test?

Yes. Join the dev letter above — we send prototype builds in waves.
